Phillip George Winter

1941 - 2025

Phillip George Winters born April 22, 1941 passed away June 20, 2025 in Salmon, Idaho. He was the son of Mack and Mary Winters of St. Anthony, Idaho. Phil was raised in the St. Anthony and Pingree areas attending schools in both locations. He graduated from South Fremont High School in St. Anthony. In 1968, Phil was called to serve in the Army. His enlistment started at Fort Ord. His medical training took place at Fort Sam Houston and he was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Medical Specialist E4 with the 25th Infantry. Phil worked for Targhee National Forrest and Yellowstone National Park Headquarters. His love for building and woodworking took him back home to St. Anthony and he started his own business, Verti-Ply Builders. Phil married Gloria Anderson in July of 1971. Dusty K. (Kristen) was born in 1975 and Tassi Marice was born in 1980. Phil's love for his wife, children, and grandchildren is indescribable. His legacy of hard work, make good decisions, and have a passion for what you do, will forever remain with them all. Phil is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, his children, 6 grandchildren and 5 sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Mary Winters, and Gloria's parents, Kenneth and Enid Anderson.

A Military Graveside Service will be held June 28, at 11:00 AM, at the Salmon City Cemetery, 1230 Cemetery Lane, Salmon, Idaho. A luncheon will be served at the family home, 12 Hay Hook Salmon, Idaho, following the service.
