Ryan Sutherland Obituary

Ryan Bruce Sutherland passed out of this earthly life on Monday, July 3, at the age of 35. Ryan was born on June 17, 1982, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Bruce Leonard Sutherland and Rhonda Risenmay Sutherland. Ryan grew up in Rexburg, and graduated from Madison High School in 2000.
From a young age, Ryan enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours throughout his life fishing, hunting and capturing photos of the wonders of nature. He also enjoyed sports growing up. He had a variety of jobs, spending a lot of time in construction and related fields. His work took him to Hawaii for a time, where he made great friends and enjoyed a laid-back lifestyle that fit him well.
Ryan is also a man of faith. He loved to share his belief in Jesus Christ and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with others, and did so both as a missionary in Nova Scotia and afterwards with people he interacted with in Idaho and Hawaii.
All who know Ryan will remember his big heart and ready smile. He loved to help others and found ways to serve those in need wherever he was. He loves people and had a great capacity to brighten the lives of those he came in contact with.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Bruce and Rhonda Sutherland, and siblings Elliott, Mark and Jamie Sutherland; Logan and Tonya Sutherland; and Joe and Marianne Sutherland Weeks. He is also survived by his grandparents, Jay and Carla Risenmay and 11 adoring nieces and nephews.
As each of you remember Ryan, please find a way to perform a kind deed, smile, make someone's day or help a stranger in need.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 8, at 11 a.m. at the LDS chapel at 612 S. Hidden Valley Road in Rexburg, Idaho. The family will receive friends and family at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg on Friday, July 7, from 6-8 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.flammfh.com.

Who can forget the bright happy smile and lion roar of a laughter

I'll never forget the day we actually didn't work and Ryan accompanied my wife and I and ower little girls to Jackson for a day were we found owerself with permenent smiles from all the laughter going down alpine slides again and again
At one point Ryan took the dare to do it no shirt and no brakes and if you know Ryan he's a man if his word as he sowred down the tunnel slides almost blowing every corner screaming still no breaks
When the end of the slide came he still sat solid with no breaks and as he blow through the back stop and flipped in to parking lot just to rise up laghing so hard we cried as he held up his board with tears of joy running down his face and road rash blood running down everywhere els he screamed let's do it again !!!!

I love you so much my friend, I will see you soon. Hands down, one of the greatest guys I've ever had the honor of calling a friend and brother. I'm gonna miss you.
