Shirley Larson

Shirley Marie Larson, 83, of St. Anthony, Idaho, died March 28, 2016, at Hospice Home in Ammon, Idaho, following a lingering illness.
She was born Feb. 2, 1933, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Vernal Leroy and Lucille Barrett Welker. She attended elementary school in St. Anthony. In 1948 the family moved to Riggins, Idaho, where Shirley attended High School. The family returned to the St. Anthony area, and Shirley graduated from South Fremont High School in 1951.
As a young woman Shirley worked with her mother in West Yellowstone, Montana, cleaning and doing laundry for Hayward Cabins. She also worked for a short time as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell.
She married Dale Larson on May 12, 1955, in St. Anthony. Shirley and Dale lived in the Idaho Falls area for a short time, where they had their first child, Jeffery Dale Larson. They moved back to the St. Anthony area, where Shirley had two more children, Brad Larson and Dianne Larson Stucki.
Shirley and Dale made a loving home for their family in St. Anthony, where both resided until the time of their passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernal and Lucille; a sister, Donna Powell (Jack); a brother Ted Welker; son Jeff Larson; grandson Aaron Somerville; and her husband, Dale Larson.
She is survived by her brother Wayne Welker (Teresa); sister-in-law Margene Welker; son Brad Larson (Kristina); daughter, DiAnne (Layne) Stucki; grandsons Jason Larson, Brady Larson and Jarod Smith; and granddaughters, Misty Carlson (Grant), Kori Larson and Jazmyn Somerville.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 1, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the St. Anthony 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary (581 E. First N.) and on Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at http://www.flammfh.com.
