Bernice C. McCuan

March 6, 1938

May 15, 2013

Bernice McCuan, 75, of Reno, Nevada, was born March 6, 1938 in Hamilton, Ontario Canada, and died peacefully at her home on May 15, 2013.

Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Dewey H McCuan of Reno, Sons; Christopher McCuan (Dana); Richard Gaudreault (Diana and family) of Reno NV; Daughter, Janine Schmitz (Russell Griffith.) of Phoenix, AZ; 3 Grandsons; Chris McCuan Jr. (Randi), Cole McCuan of Reno, NV, and Sean O'Brien of Phoenix, AZ; 2 Granddaughters; Jillianne McCuan of Reno, NV and Celine DeChandt of Phoenix, AZ; Sister Diane Bowles (Don Zavolta) of Lakewood, CA, Brother William Morrison and Sister Christine Morrison of Toronto, ONT Canada; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

"Bunny" came to the United States on July 4th, 1974 and had been in Reno since 1978. She enjoyed 10+ years of service with UNR in the Medical and Music Departments.

Bunny took great joy in spending time with family, gardening with her husband Dewey, bird watching, her lovable dogs, and most especially reading her books (several at one time). An occasional jackpot at the Tamarack always brought a smile.

Our Mom, Sister, Aunt, and best friend will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local SPCA.

I worked with Bernice at Baker & Taylor Books. She was always the one who could lighten up any situation. Bernice just had this glow about her that would make anyone happy. Boy is god going to have his hand full, as I know she is still spreading cheer. My thoughts and prayers go out to Bernice's family. She will always be with you...
