Bobby Lively Obituary

Bobby Gene Lively, Jr., age 67, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2010 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by love in his life, and in his passing. He was born on November 6, 1942 to Dorothy and Bobby Lively, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Samuel Geegee.
Bob spent his young school years in Trona, CA, and maintained lifelong close relationships with the friends he made during those years. As a teenager, he attended Reno High School, and began working at the Reno Gazette Journal in the composing room and later in the circulation department, until transferring to Chillicothe, Ohio in 1976 to work at the Chillicothe Gazette. After leaving Ohio in 1979, Bob turned to commercial printing and eventually opened his own shop, Lively Printing in Novato, CA, and later Lively Trade Printing in Reno.
As a infantryman in the Vietnam war (1967-68), he encountered many conflicts, and was highly decorated for his heroic actions.
He loved golfing with his friends, gardening, painting ceramics, and his family. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy Lively, daughters Tawnya Lively of Reno and Debra Bennett of Ridgecrest, CA, sons Bobby Lively, III of Colorado, and Milo Doerges of Grants Pass, Oregon, brother Richard Lively of Ridgecrest, CA, grandson Justin Mason of Ridgecrest, CA, granddaughters Jessica Mueller-Bennett of Germany, Amanda Doerges of Bakersfield, CA, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, and other family members.
The Lively family is sincerely grateful to Vista Care Hospice for the care of Bob and our family during the last few years. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Vista Care. There will be a memorial service at Walton's Sierra Chapel, 875 W. Second Street in Reno, on Saturday, June 5th at 1 p.m.
Enjoy your eternal nap Bob, we will miss you forever.

Hello Nancy, so sorry about your loss. Bob and I were good friends back when he had his shop in Novato. You probably will remember Ken & Bonnie Warren better when I remind you of the crazy camping trip we all went on with Bob, his brother, and you. You got us the campsite in the sierras and it snowed on us - in July! I will miss him and his great smile.

Though many years have passed by, (and so quickly), I have always kept my dad close in my thoughts and in my heart. My memories of him are filled with empathy. The sadness will be with me for a long, long time. He was a very special person and I loved him dearly.
