Craig McAllister Obituary

Craig Reed McAllister

Reno - Craig Reed McAllister, 69, took his last Jeep ride into the sunrise in the early morning hours on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. He is survived by Pamela, his wife of 46 years, son Sean (Catherine), daughter Sara (Scott), and treasured granddaughters Ali and Molly.

After graduating from Wooster High School and attending UNR, he began his 30-year career with Washoe Country MIS (aka Information Technology) as a computer operator. Before retiring in 2004, he worked in systems and project management. He was an accomplished martial artist, having earned a second degree black belt in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, a first degree black belt in Goju Shorei Weapons, and a first degree black belt in Goju Kenpo Karate. Craig was an avid Nevada backroader and passionate advocate for open land access. He was a dedicated and influential board member of the Hills Angels 4x4 Club.

He will be forever missed by his family and the many dear friends he's made throughout his life. A private celebration of life will be held at his favorite Jeeping spot in remote northern Nevada. In his honor, donations can be made to the ALS Association, ShareTrails.org, or Nevada Four Wheel Drive Association.

Pam, Barb & I just got the message from Kay Marshall. We had no idea otherwise. We were both in the northern GA mountains over & beyond the 4th of July so haven't been home long. I always enjoyed being with both of you & talking with Craig. I recall staying @ your place in Reno way back when your kids were very young. If you ever want to visit us in Southport, NC please do. I wish everyone could get together more often.

Craig has always been a great example of "not sweating the small stuff." I will always remember "sodas" with you and Craig Harrison at Scrupples. Thanks for being such a positive contribution to our community!

Craig was a great person to work with and I will always remember our time at Washoe County. Without him, I would not be where I am today.
