Derrick Jennings Obituary

Derrick Brice Jennings

December 12, 1972

September 3, 2015

Derrick Brice Jennings; Loving son, brother, uncle and father passed away very unexpectedly on Thursday, September 3, 2015. Derrick was born on December 12, 1972. He was 42 years old.

Derrick went to Reed High School where he played football for the Freshman/Sophomore team. He attended Sparks Christian Fellowship Church and very much believed in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Derrick was a tile setter by trade and made a name for himself by setting some very beautiful granite counters and magnificent mosaics. Derrick was an animal lover and didn't believe in killing even a fly. He believed everything had a purpose under God.

He was preceded in death by his life long companion and best friend, his dog, Buddy, who passed away in February of this year. He is survived by his parents Ron and Janet Jennings; brother Daniel; sisters Shelly Bannister, Shannon Rollins and Melissa Hedrick; and son Ryan Bender. Not to forget his many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A life cut too short. We will miss you forever. We love you so much.

A Celebration of Derrick's life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Ross, Burke and Knobel Mortuary, 2155 Kietzke Lane, Reno NV. Please dress casual. In lieu of flowers, please give to someone who looks hungry.

We shared some really good times and also some hard times. What I'll always remember is Derricks hope and optimism, for himself and others. When I was at the lowest point of my life, he was there with the most support. My deepest condolences to his family
