Donald Edgar Pollock

Reno - Don passed away peacefully on December 20, 2017 with his daughter Debbie by his side.

Don was born to Edgar and Jean Pollock on July 10, 1933, his mother's birthday, in Fillmore, Saskatchewan, Canada. During the great depression of the 30's the family moved west to Nelson, B.C. settling finally in Vancouver, BC. Don completed high school at Vancouver Technical School and went on to work at Vancouver Ironworks and then Shell Oil. In 1963 he made the move to Reno, Nevada where he resided until his passing. Don was a partner in Allied Petroleum Services for many years, running bulk petroleum plants, several gas stations and supplying fuel to Nevada and eastern California. He also owned Reno Towing for a time. Don retired in 2000 and the highlights of his retirement were the motorhome trips he and Annie took north to Alaska and then across the United States and back. Don's failing health resulted in a move to Brookdale Seniors Care Home in October 2017 where he passed away.

Don is survived by his loving wife Annie, his dear sister Dorothy McChesney (Saskatchewan), his children Sharon (Ralph Mulcahy), Kamloops BC, Sheila, Seattle WA, Deborah, Reno, and Donald (Melissa) Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Jodie (Dustin), Tyson (Karla), Kristie, Heather (Junya) and Spencer; great grandchildren Ryder, Ethan, Nolan, Jaelin, and Skylar. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother-in-law Don.

Very special thanks to Joni for all her kindness and care for Dad which enabled him to live with Annie at home for as long as he did. Also thanks to Dr. Dennis Brown, Medical Staff at St Mary's Hospital, the wonderful staff at Brookdale Reno NW and finally the St Mary's Hospice team who helped make Dad's final days, and his passing, gentle and comfortable.

Love you so much Dad. We'll miss you but grateful you are now at rest.
