A central and treasured part of his family and community, Gary went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2012 in a mountain climbing accident. He leaves behind him his wife Ann Dankworth; children Bria and (Ryan), Jason and (Nicole), Quentin, and Annelise; and 4 grandchildren. Celebration of Gary's life will be held Tuesday August 14, 2012 at 2pm at Capital Christian Center in Carson City, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to one of the following charities: Inyo County Search and Rescue: P.O. Box 982 Bishop, CA. 93515; Focus on the Family: www.focusonthefamily.com; KNIS Radio: P.O. Box 21888 Carson City, NV. 89721. So sorry to hear the sad news. I remember when he was a kid growing up along side our kids, camping with us at Yosemite, the spiritual meetings that we had at your home. Paul and i are praying for you, peace, joy and love.

Dr. Dankworth was my preceptor and mentor this last Spring. I am truly saddened by his passing. From his example and teachings he shaped me into becoming a better physician. His compassion was evident in every patient he worked with - giving equal time to the physical, social, and spiritual aspects of each individual's life. His heart extended beyond his office and encompassed the community in which he built his practice. His willingness to support trips for underprivileged children to experience the wilderness, made me respect him even more. I will always see Dr. Dankworth as a role model for my career as a physician. A man who built a solo practice in the midst of big medicine, who focused on family and spiritual health instead of the material. I know you are surfing right now, waves breaking across the sky - but you are truly missed.

Dr. Dankworth had a profound impact on me & I will miss him dearly. My prayers are with his family. I aspire to be more like this gentle, wonderful man in many ways. I will run further, be healthier....and pass on the compassion he showed me. I will follow the Lord like be did; I will not forget him.

Dear Dankworth Family,
I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Gary's passing. I graduated with Gary from Reno High School class of 1969. He was such a wonderful and kind person. The last time I saw him was at our class reunion July 2009. He will be greatly missed by all his fellow classmates. My deepest sympathy is with your entire family and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am in Florida having had to move due to my significant other having medical issues. I knew my parents would always be in kind, warm and compassionate hands with Dr. Dankworth. I can't seem to get his passing out of my mind. He was one of those rare individuals who really cared. Our family misses you Dr. Dankworth
