Hubert Goddard Obituary

Hubert I.

GODDARD Jr.

Hubert I. Goddard Jr. 87, of Reno, NV passed away on July 8, 2009. He was born October 1, 1921 in Washington D.C. to Hubert Sr. and Nannye Russum Goddard.

Hubert served in the Army during W.W.II in the Philippines and New Guinea. Afterwards, he lived in Japan where he married and his daughter was born. Eventually, after a long illness, he and his family moved back to the US where his son was born. Hubert had a large extended family and as a lad, shared fun times with them in Tennessee. He loved cornbread and liked to think that he cooked it better than his mother. He loved to laugh and we will miss his sense of humor.

Hubert is survived by his children, Elizabeth and Paul; his sister, Mary; his grandchildren, Brianna, Karina, and Joel; nephew, Bill (Donna) and their daughters, Christine and Lauren. He was a good friend to Bob and Rod, and had a great rapport with animals.

We love you and miss you.

I have only fond memories of my grandfather, Hubert Goddard. I only wish that he had a chance to meet my fiance Iain and his unborn great-granddaughter. Granddad, you will always be in my heart.
