Reno - 1943-2021 In Loving Memory
Inez Reid-Olson, surrounded by family, peacefully passed away from this earth and into the arms of Jesus on June 15, 2021 in Reno, Nevada.
Inez was born July 23, 1943 in Lakeview, Oregon to Troy Russell and Wilma L. Brown Icenhower. She was an inspiration and joy to all those she met.
Inez is survived by her husband, confidant and friend Donald W. Olson, her four children Mitze Reid, Tricia D. Reid, Reshel Reid and Daniel K. Reid, stepson Travis Olson, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, her brother and sister, and numerous others.
Inez dearly loved her family and though many were out of the area, she kept up on events weekly and loved seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and flourish.
Inez will be remembered for her love of teaching her grandchildren how to cook and the tips and tricks she passed along. She was an artist at heart, had an unsurpassed skill at crocheting and was a gatherer of items and antiques for their home museum. She was a grand storyteller and known defender of frogs. She was a 'Little Bit' of so many things, in so many wonderful ways, and she always brought a smile and a laugh with her.
Inez was a true believer in God, and her granddaughter's words to her are reflected by all of us - "I love you so much Grandma and so happy your body is completely restored and that you are walking the golden roads in Heaven. Until we meet again."
A short service will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 11am-12pm at Walton's Sierra Chapel, 875 W. Second Street, Reno, NV. The burial will follow at approximately 1:30pm at the Fernley Desert Memorial Garden Cemetery, 1000 Mission Way, Fernley, NV.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a COPD or Eye Disease charity of your choice was Inez's wish.
