Jeffrey Saunders, 53, of Reno died Wednesday April 2, 2014 at Renown Medical Center.
Jeff was a caring and giving person, helping many people in their daily lives- completing handyman tasks, assisting with home improvement, providing rides for car repairs, yard work, camping and fishing buddy.
He was an avid Reno Air Race fan who never missed a year since 1990. He would camp out with the Fenceliners and always invited everyone he talked to.
Jeff joined the Desert Research Institute family in 2000 and was a very dedicated employee, making many new friends during his time there. Those who had the pleasure of being part of his routine were kept on their toes with his playful pranks and he would never leave an office until everyone was laughing and smiling.
He was preceded in death by his Father Robert Saunders, Mother Marjorie Saunders and Brother Darren Saunders. He is survived by his Brother Kirk Saunders of San Diego, his daughters Heather Saunders and Holly Johnson and girlfriend and soul mate Tammy Kirby.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Desert Research Institute, 2215 Raggio Parkway, Reno, NV 89512 on Sunday April 6 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to the Reno Air Race Association. Contributions can be mailed to 14501 M. Anderson St. Reno, NV 89506 or made online at www.renoarf.org.
