John Christoffersen Obituary

John M (Chris) Christoffersen

John M (Chris) Christoffersen passed from this life to another adventure on March 4, 2014. Surviving him are his beloved wife (Marilou) and six children: Judy, Terry, John, Rena, Tim, and Charles, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Grandpa Chris loved kids. After he retired, he became a volunteer for the Foster Grandparent Program. He thoroughly enjoyed teaching the children the game of chess at the Boys & Girls Club where he could be found 5 days a week.

Chris never knew a stranger. Everyone he met was a potential friend, and he never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word.

A private family celebration will be held at his home on the 22nd of March.

Until we meet again, Chris, "Mr. "C", I will love and miss you all my life.

My Uncle Chris was the kind of man I want to be when I grow up. He was never without a smile, a kind word, and an authentic interest in what someone had to say. That he will be missed is a given. The impact and influence he had on the world, however, is immeasurable. I can count on one hand the people I've encountered in this life where simply thinking of them always brings a smile to my face, and Chris is one of them. "Nearly perfect" is as accurate a description as one could muster. I can honestly say I am a better person for having known him. Safe travels, sir.

Grandpa Chris introduced me to the game of chess in 2004. He was a true gentleman to all and will be missed terribly. Thanks, Grandpa Chris, for all the great chess games and to all the many people you introduced to chess. Until we meet again.

Chris was a wonderful and delighful man, whenever you would ask how he was doing he would always say "nearly perfect" I will always remember that phrase!
