Mabel McCoy Obituary
MCCOY
Mabel L. McCoy passed away peacefully November 2, 2009 In Harmony Manor. She was born January 25, 1910 to William L. and Jesse M. Pearce in Winnemucca at her Grandmothers house at 418 West Railroad St. what is now the Richardson House now located at the Humboldt Museum. After her birth she was taken to the Pearce Ranch 50 miles South on the Grass Valley Road in Pleasant Valley to join her three older sisters.
Her parents; husband, Melvin; daughter, Doris Sheppard; six sisters; one brother; grandson, Terry Sheppard and daughter-in-law, Virginia McCoy preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Joseph, Milton and Stanley (Jean) and son- in-law, T.G. Sheppard; grandchildren, Mike Sheppard (Michelle), Paddy Legarza (John), Charles Sheppard, Cheri Maynick, Tom Sheppard, Joe McCoy (Alisha), Brett McCoy (Kristina), Jennifer Wright, Glenn McCoy, Dawn Rook- stool, Dyann Rookstool (Roy) and Tim Valeriel numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Harmony Manner, 118 East Haskell Street, Winnemucca, NV 89445. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Albertson Funeral Home. Burial will take place at the Winnemucca Cemetery, following the funeral service.
Mabel was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and was always willing to take care of family when needed. Her hobbies were her family and being an artist. All will miss her.

Mabel was the first friend I had when I moved to Winnemucca 23 years ago. She was a rock for me, never got upset or angry, was always smiling and joyful. She not only taught me to paint and to be a better person. Mabel I Love You and will miss you so very much, you will always be in my heart. I will treasure your insight and guidence.
