Michael Roy Johnson

On July 6, 2014, in Reno NV, Michael Roy Johnson died after a very brief hospital stay.

Michael was born in Eureka CA on August 9, 1947, to Roy Warren and Margret Marie Johnson. He had one sibling, Dennis Edward, and attended Grant and Washington elementary schools before graduating from Eureka High School in 1965.

After High School Mike joined the US Navy and he had two children, Sean Michael and Kevin Robert.

Mike worked at Eureka Floor Company as a flooring installer for 30 years, and at Simas Floor Company, Inc.

In 2002 Mike married Bonnie Gering, a high school classmate. The couple spent a lot of time traveling and preparing for retirement. They loved each other very much and were at each other's side always. They had many plans, many of which involved his brand new boat.

He loved to go fishing or exploring with friends, shoot his bow and arrow, or cook a good meal, yet he always had time to help anyone who asked him. He knew a lot about a lot and freely shared his knowledge.

He was a good father, husband, friend, and a generous provider. He was preceded in death by his Parents Roy and Margret Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Johnson, his brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Adrienne Johnson, his sons Sean Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Lisa Buchanan and Ray Gering, his Grandchildren Emily and Arthur Johnson, Nathan and Dylan Buchanan, Sam, Kate, and Claire Gering, and many Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Mike will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Reno Elks Lodge, 597 Kumle Ln, Reno, NV from 11am to 3pm on July 27.
