Mike Parker was one of the greatest persons I have ever encountered in my life, and reading all the positive comments prove that assessment. I personally ran into him at a car wash in Reno and he was the manager of that car wash and he made such an impression on me as a people person that I gave him my business card where I was the Bell Captain at Circus Circus and said I would love to give him a job as a bellman. Three days later he showed up for the job interview and he got the job immediately. I remember introducing him to the director of guest services and hotel manager. They were very impressed with him. And so impressed he worked for Circus Circus for over a decade way after I moved on to other endeavors in life.
Mike and I became very good friends and went to concerts as well our wives attended dinners with us. He was one of the luckiest people I ever met, we would go to some restaurant in a casino and he would always stick his change in one machine and pull the handle, and the bells would start ringing. He did that so many times and every time he would get that Mike Parker giggle. We would go to a bar for our after shift drink, you could bet he would always order a tall
kulula separator and I would say how do you stay so skinny drinking those? He would always respond with something so off the wall and make me laugh.
Mike touched so many lives with the people he worked with and the thousands of customers of the Circus Hotel. Its been 5 years now that he has passed.
Age 57 was way to young. I think of that song by Billy Joel "Only The Good Die Young".
You touched so many lives in a positive way. To his wife and children Ive never met you, but you know the husband and father you lost. We will never forget Mike Parker!

I was very saddened to hear of Mike's passing. Mike and I were members of a large group of friends who all worked at McDonald's in our junior and senior years of high school or longer. We spent many wonderful hours together bowling, chatting and cruising around Reno. We would all meet in the parking lot after McDonald's closed and spend hours just chatting all night at Denny's, Boomtown etc. We all loved being with eachother and just had so much fun together. Mike had such a wonderful sense of humor. I especially loved his three stoges imitations. Those two years spent with Mike were really two of the best years of my life and I will always be grateful to him for those wonderful years of friendship. God bless you, Mike!

So sad to hear about Mike. We worked together for many years at Circus and he was always so positive and caring. In 16 years I don't recall ever seeing him angry. The world is a poorer place without him. I do not know his family, but please know his kind spirit touched many lives."Death is not extinguishing the light; it is only putting out the lamp because the dawn has come." Rabindranath Tagore

I don't know what happened to you. It makes me soo sad to hear. You were a genuinely kind person. Always concerned more about others, than the job they performed. I always remembered you, talking about your kids. A prayer for your peace, and strength for your family.

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather, openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. "Unknown".
I once read in a book that everyone who enters your life, no matter for how long..moments or years, it changes you forever. I simple good morning can change a bad start to the day which changes how your tomorrow goes. You will be with me forever because you helped to shape me and make me who I am. You will be sorely missed Parker.

This news of the Mike's loss deeply saddened me. I also haven't seen him for a long time and used to work at Mc Donald's with him in the mid 70's. We shared lots of time together working on our muscle cars and racing at Sacramento Raceway. Great times to be always remembered with Mike. My sincere condolences go to his entire family I never had the chance to meet. God Bless

To Mike's Kids,
You have my deepest sympathies. Your dad was a great guy, and one of the best managers I ever had. He made the nights bearable and fun. Sometimes the humor was at his expense, and he would run away turning beet red, leaving me and my friend laughing for the next hour at how easily embarrassed he got.
When I was pregnant with my oldest daughter he would send my friend into the bathroom if he felt I'd been in there too long, which was almost every single time I had to go. He even stopped in the middle of the start of shift stand-up once because I was having braxton-hicks contractions and he was worried I was going into labor. He watched over me so closely the whole time, and I appreciated how caring he was in a time when I needed it the most.
The world is less with him not in it, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have known him.
RIP Mike. <3

Mike Parker,
What can I say about the most wonderful manager I have ever had. You were always interested in how I was doing and how I was feeling. I shared so much with you as to making jokes about how loud I was and how I was so young and did not know about the world. You knew I looked at you as a role model you always seem to help me at work as to me being stressed out. I will forever have you in my prayers. You will be remember as the man that had more shoes then I could think of and brightest colors. Not to mention the best sense of humor. Rest in Paradise Mike Parker you will Always be remembered.
