Nancy Chorley Krum

Aug. 26, 1932

Oct. 13, 2016

Nancy Ann Krum was born August 26, 1932. She grew up in Sacramento, California during the second world war. In the 1950's, Nancy was married and moved to Reno. She raised children for three decades. As a mid-century modern woman, homemaking was her true life's work. In her marriage, husband Bob may have been the more well-known, but Nancy was the structure, strategy and success of any endeavor. Nancy died unexpectedly October 13, 2016.

Nancy endured the too-early death of her sister Myra. Younger brother Dave and Jim also preceded her in death. Nancy - and the whole family - suffered the sudden loss of her husband, Bob Krum, in 1999. Mrs. Robert H. Krum now faced life solo - but not solitary. Nancy was Mother to a lucky few: Debbie, Brian and Lisa. And, of course, spouses Rick, Patti and Fritz are double-lucky to have had Nancy as mother-in-law. She had grandson Kyle, in Reno and numerous nieces and nephews across the country and world. In 2001, the death of her dear mother Mae Chorley made Nancy the de facto matriarch of the family.

As her generation was passing away, she strived to enhance connections among far-flung family. In 2012, a celebration for her 80th birthday brought most of the family together again; and recently, she was excited to attend the marriage of grandson Kyle Brice to Chelsey Farnworth.

After a quiet hospital stay over Columbus Day weekend and relatively minor surgery to get a pacemaker, she was poised for resurgence in style and attitude. Her loss leaves us with gratitude for her gracious, giving life. Life is to be savored. Nancy Krum seasoned hers with JOY.

Please join in celebration of life at her home on Saturday, October 29. Casual, open-house format between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Nancy was such a beautiful person. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. As well as draw close to God in prayer. He is a comforter of all those who mourn. He will listen to your prayers and grant you peace. My sincere condolences.

As always, a wonderful time was had by all in the house on Jasper Lane. We love you, Aunt Nancy. The best laughs, late nights, casino runs...
