Patricia Brenay Obituary

Patricia Jean Brenay

Patricia Jean Brenay passed away at home in her sleep, next to the love of her life, her husband, Arnie on February 28th and now is pain free. Born April 12, 1942 to Clarence and Myrtle Waage in Spokane, Washington, Patty Jean was the youngest of seven children. She is preceded in heaven by both parents, sister Betty, brothers Bud, Bob and Eddie. She is survived by her sisters Delores and Alice. She is also survived by her loving caring husband of 52 years. Patty met Arnie out dancing and fell in love. They continued dancing for years with their circle of friends at the Branding Iron and Black Angus.

She started her career as the PBX operator for Bill Lear Avia in Stead and found a love for Reno Aces Hockey, football, NASCAR and boxing. With her fun loving personality and strong work ethic, she worked her way from cashier to Business Office Manager at St Mary's Hospital within a 12 year span. She opened Sparks Family Hospital as their Business Office Manager and later assumed the same role at Reno Medical Plaza. Her physical limitations made her decrease to part time as she finished her medical management career at Dr Craig Karrasch's office.

During Patty's retirement whenever she was feeling down due to her health, Arnie would take her to one of their favorite destinations in San Francisco, Monterey or her very special Oregon coastline. This would refresh them both!

As a daughter, friend, wife, mother and grandmother, Patty taught us all how to live life without complaining, love without judgment and to laugh, laugh, laugh! She is passing the torch onto her two daughters, Kimberly Brenay and Diana Sutherland, to carry on above all the family love. She will always be the proud grandmother of Ryan Mathew, Jordan David, Marissa Jean, Erica Lenae and Logan Michael.

The family would like to thank St Mary's Hospice for their excellent care and friendship. A very special thank you to Kimberly DeMartin, for her love and humor. She will always be considered "part of the family".

A celebration of Patty's life will be held on her 73rd birthday, Sunday April 12th, outdoors at Mountain View Cemetery at noon. Patty loved dogs and the unconditional love they bring to life, so in lieu of flowers please donate to the Nevada Humane Society, 2825 Longley Ln #B; Reno, NV. 89502 in memory of her babies, Mingo, Jenny, Muffin, Abby and Daisy.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine and we love you to the moon and back!!!

Classy,Very Repected, Intelligent, loved her husband, puppies and family more than anything! She never complained to anyone how aweful she may have been feeling. She gave me alot of advice about love and life. I'M happy she has NO more pain...let's all have a glass of wine, look up, shed some tears and be thankful we knew "Patricia Jean Brenay"...Thank you Pat for caring about me! Love you always, Gina

Pat and I grew up in Tacoma together a block away from each other. We went all through school together. I used to go the the Waage home, her maiden name, for cinnamon rolls and goulash. Both her parents were great cooks. We played baseball at Lowell grade school, went to Jason Lee Jr. High together and then on to high school at Stadium, "The Old Brown Castle" as we all called it. In the past few years she was always so thoughtful and would send me cards on every holiday and on my birthday. I know how much she will be missed.
