Patrick Paul Sydow of Sparks, NV passed away on Friday, September 19, 2008 after a long and enduring battle with a brain tumor. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Patrick was born in Crawford, NE on March 28, 1948 to Fredrick and Virginia Sydow. He grew up in Ruchville, NE, and attended school at Chadron State College in Nebraska where he met his wife Garrine. He worked as a manager of Newbery's in Alliance, NE as well as Rock Springs, WY where he spent most of his adult life. After Newbery's, he worked as an optician in Rock Springs, then began his banking career as computer programmer analyst at Rock Springs National Bank. His banking career took him to Red Bluff, CA, Truckee, CA and Carson City, NV and most recently Patrick served as a Vice President of Information Technology for Nevada Security Bank in Reno.

His interests included traveling, fishing, cooking, card games and time spent with family and friends. Patrick was a warm, caring, intelligent man who had many dear friends with whom he loved fishing, eating and laughing with and who have helped greatly in his time of need, and will miss him very much.

Patrick is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Garrine of Sparks; son, Eric Sydow and his wife Tamson of Aurora, CO; daughter, Leslie and her husband Matt Bradshaw of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by his brother, Max and his wife Pam of Vancouver, WA; sister, Phyllis and her husband Dave Carlson of Hay Springs, NE; grandchildren, Hannah, Samuel, Rebekah and Joshua Sydow of Aurora, CO and Elizabeth Bradshaw of Wilmington, NC, as well as many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A public viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at Spanish Springs Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 11 a.m.

I was very sorry to her about Pat's illness and passing. I have very fond memories of Pat and Garri and watching Eric and Leslie growing up. Please know that I'm thinking of all of you, and I hope that you will be comforted by good memories and know that you are held in the hearts of many.

Pat was wonderful to work with at Heritage Bank. He was always there when we needed him. He always had to joke with us non-computer people and was alway very patient. Pat will truly be missed. He was always very nice to me and the staff at Heritage Bank. God Bless his family.

I had worked with Patrick at Heritage Bank and remember him as a very caring, special person. He was always supportive of his co-workers and his strength was always there for all of us. He will be missed but always in our memories.
