Worked for Ramelli Logging Company for three summers 1969 to 1971, Cy Kutz hired me (Logging Boss) for Ramelli, started as a choker setter with John as Dozer Operator, then moved on the the landing as a Knot Bumper, hard work for sure but enjoyed the challange and hard work. Attending UNR Forestry Program at the time, so needed a job in the Forestry Field hired by Cy Kutz. During those days, Paul operated the rubber tired skidder by himself, no choker setter with him. We all worked so hard to do a good job. In 1972 I was hired by the Nevada Div of Forestry as a firefighter, remained with them for the next 33 years - retiring as a Forester IV - FMO - ran into Don Ramelli at his home in Balls Canyon where we had engine crews, volunteer (Cold Springs and several others), helicopters and inmate hand-crews protecting Don's home and others located in Balls Canyon. He was standing on his deck, "Wow, there's Don Ramelli was my thought" hadn't seen him in twenty years but recognized him right off. So I stopped and introduced myself unsure if he remembered me. We had a nice chat. Sorry to hear the news about Paul, always a nice and hard working kid... I do have some old photo's of those logging days but can't seem to locate them in my computer???
