Richard Imes Obituary
Our Lord and Savior welcomed home Richard (Dick) Perry Imes, VI on January 20, 2021. Dick was born on July 29, 1933 in Billings, Montana. He is survived by his wife, Sonnie, his twin brother Robert "Bob" and younger brother Ron. By his side at the time of his death were his sons, Richard Perry Imes, Jr. (wife, Melinda), Charles Kevin Imes (wife, Linda), Joseph Christopher Imes (wife, Lilah) and grandson Daniel Lee Imes (wife, Karena). Dick was also survived by his daughter Amy Considine (husband, Jim) and step-son, Jeff Zinman. Dick had five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Dick served his country as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force (Korea). He managed the Commercial Credit Corporation in Las Vegas, Nevada and spent the last 35 years in the Reno-Tahoe basin as a real estate broker. Dick was an avid hunter and fisherman and preferred to be outdoors as much as possible. We were blessed by his generosity and service toward others. He will be missed by many and remembered at a memorial service, spring, 2021.

Richard Perry Imes VI was my second cousin, though I never met him. I've been working on my genealogy (and therefore his!), and his great-grandfather is also my great-grandfather, Richard Perry Imes III - (1841-1905) who served as a Union Civil War soldier. His wife Eliza was a strong pioneer woman, homesteading on her own after her husband died. One of her sons, my great-Uncle, another Richard Perry Imes (IV), Dick's grandfather, was a notable pioneer in the U.S. Forest Service, serving as one of the first Forest Supervisors in South Dakota, before he moved to Montana. The stories from old newspapers on that side of the family are fascinating, though sometimes tragic. I'm hoping to reconnect with some of your side of the family. I'm glad to see so many generations of "Richard Perry Imes" maintaining the tradition!

Sonnie, Steve and I are so sorry to hear that Dick has passed. He was a great guy. I have lots of good memories of you both. We hope that when you think of the life you shared it helps you get through this difficult time.
