Roger McCaskill Obituary

Roger Maurice McCaskill 87 passed away peacefully at his home in Reno, Nevada on January 3, 2017 following years of suffering from Alzheimer's. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Estelle; his two daughters, Terry and Cheryl; his four sons, Michael, John, Randy and Roger Jr; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Born in Montgomery County, North Carolina in 1929. Roger was an outstanding high school athlete, excelling at basketball and baseball. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. After his military service, he attended the University of Florida, where he earned a pharmacy degree. He opened his first pharmacy store in Orlando and his second in Safety Harbor before joining SuperX Drugs and Eckerd Drugs as store managers.
Roger had a fondness for animals especially German Shepherds and he had a keen sense of humor.

I remember Maurice (slugger) and his NC family very well. He excelled in basket and baseball and was very popular in the small community of Candor. My condolences to his family who will no doubt have an abundance of pleasant memories. I do wish them well and to departed Maurice: Semper Fidelus, festinalente.
