Dear Celia, and family...
I just learned of Dr. Scully's passing. Not knowing your personal email address and wanting to contact you immediately, I will go this route to extend my prayers and love to your family. Dr. Scully was such a kind and intelligent man, and a wonderful husband and father to you all. I will always remember his HUGE smile and wonderful head of hair. He took command of any room he entered. I'm sure he has already done so, too, in his next journey. I am thinking of you all.

My sincere condolences to the Scully family for the passing of Dr. Tom Scully. I still remember my first week of medical school when Tom gathered us to talk about becoming physicians, and gave us the best insight into who we should try to be. I will miss his extraordinary wisdom, intellect and humor, though I know that he has passed on many of his talents to his family. God Bless you, Tom.

Dear Celia and the Scully family.
I worked for the medical school for 15 years, and from the beginning Dr. Scully quickly became one of my favorites because of his genuine kindness and willingness to provide expertise when I needed someone to meet with the local media. He also was a stalwart supported of the school's magazine, Synapse, for which I was responsible. I never saw him without a smile, and knowing him, and having his help, made my experience at the school rich and fulfilling. I was proud to count him as a friend.

The impact and influence of the teaching by Dr. Scully is far reaching. I first met him in my undergraduate ethics class and later during my time as a faculty member at the Medical School. Formally and informally his influence, knowledge, and opinions continue to be shared by us with those we are charged with teaching and mentoring. He will be greatly missed. Bruce Bannister

My deepest condolences to Dr. Scully's family and friends. I was priveleged to hear him lecture at UNR on several occasions. I was always amazed to find that someone of his standing and importance had time to answer any question from anyone, and how important he made other people feel. Even an undergrad. God Bless you Dr. Scully.
In sympathy,
Chris Clayton

I recently retired from the School of Medicine, Office of Admissions and Student Affairs after 30 years. I have known Dr. Scully the entire time. I can truly say I have never met a kinder, gentler man. I cannot adequately express my deep sorrow that he will no longer be walking among us and cheering us on. I am so grateful that I got to know him and spend time with him during those years. I am sure the stories will come streaming in both funny and poignant. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with Celia and the Scully family.
