Vern was a great person to everybody. I had the honor of working next door to him as long as he had his welding shop in Sparks. I know it was more than 15yrs. Going to lunch at Butcher Boy every Fri. was the norm. I will miss that, but not more than his friendship and the way he treated everyone he =came into contact with. My heart goes out to the whole family. He will surely be missed.

I will always remember Vern at our softball games, for the GRRRR Girls, he was our biggest fan. He always had a smile and gave us so much encouragement. He will be missed. My love to the family and Jo, I am so sorry. All my love RoxAnn (Gurr) Knighton

In the short time we knew Vern as a neighbor, he was always upbeat, quick with a smile or laugh, and great with the neighborhood children. His love for life and giving nature will be missed.

To live, love, learn and leave a legacy is what makes a person whole. Vern lived, he loved and he learned something new everyday. More importantly he left a legacy for future generations to follow. His memory will live on, through his teachings as a husband, a father and a coach. God speed Vern.

I'm so sad to learn of my Uncle Vernon's passing, and cherish my memories of the times spent with him, always times filled with laughter. I remember his "trick" leg that fell off when we least expected it to, especially before we or our visiting friends knew he had an amputation! We squealed and laughed. And then, he repeated the trick with our own children, again to gales of laughter. He loved his family and was so proud of his children. We'll miss you, Uncle Vernon! Sincere sympathy to the entire family and his huge circle of friends.
Love,
Ann Vogel
