Frank Byrd Obituary
Frank "Sonny" Byrd age 86 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on Dec. 13, 1936, in Hamilton County to the late Ninevah Lee and Pearl Katherine Dodson Byrd.
Sonny was a graduate of Spring City High School. He was a carpenter and contractor for most of his life and owned and operated Frank Byrd Construction until his retirement. An avid fisherman, Sonny won man awards and tournaments. He was of the Baptist faith.
Sonny was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Byrd; daughter, Teresa Ann Dodson; and grandson, Dillon Dodson.
Survivors include his grandson, Josh Dodson, of Chattanooga; special friend Donna Kunkel of Grandview; two great-grandchildren; and his dog "Gus."
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. The interment will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Spring City Cemetery. The family received friends at Vaughn Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.

So sorry to hear of Sonny's passing.He was a great friend and will missed.He spent alot of time on Watts Bar fishing against Don and Jim Lee in those tournaments that they all loved to fish
