Michael Long Obituary
Michael "Mike" James Long, 60, of Spartanburg, S.C., passed away at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center on Friday, April 21, 2023. He was born in Mount Clemons, Mich.,I on December 29, 1962 to the late Charles G. Long and Mary Nolan Fitzgerald.
Mike graduated from Evart High School in Evart, Mich. He moved to Georgia in 1995 before settling in South Carolina in 2000. He worked in the plastics industry as a plant manager. Mike enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing, but the time he most enjoyed was spent with his grandchildren. At the end, he was also proud that he could donate his corneas so that others could benefit from his organ donation.
Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sarah Long; three children, Chris (Samantha) Kaylor, Jeff (Courtney) Long, and Ashley (Trey) Threlkeld; three grandchildren, Paisley Threlkeld, Tucker Kaylor, and Finley Threlkeld; father, Edwin (Tony) Fitzgerald; and eight siblings, Michelle (Jerry) Meadows, Cindy (Dave) Badder, Devon (Jenny) Long, Cori (Scott) Cole, Juli (Ben) Broome, Donelle (Fitzpatrick) Peterson, Diana Long, and Stacey Long.
Funeral services for Mike will be held l on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the Vanderwall Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Meadows officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens.

The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 12 noon until the time of the service.
