Lorraine Catherine Steiner, age 93, of Rice Lake, WI, died Sunday, December 18, 2022 in Rice Lake.
She was born on May 3, 1929 in Ellsworth, WI to Ignatius and Nelle Murphy. Lorraine attended Clayfield and Lantz rural schools and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1946.
She was married to Walter Steiner in 1947 and they resided in Ellsworth until moving to New Richmond in 1960 and have lived in Rice Lake since 1987. She was employed as an Executive Secretary at St. Croix Press in New Richmond from 1961-1987. The members of her family were very important in her life. Lorraine was very proud of her Irish heritage.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Sandra Steiner of Rice Lake and Susan Wittak of Greendale, WI; a son, Michael (Irina) Steiner of Sharon, Massachusetts; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Andrew) Stilling; grandsons, Jon Wittak and Jason (Amy) Wittak; step grandson, Ivan Rudoval; 3 great grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin and Katherine Stilling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Steiner; her parents, Ignatius and Nelle Murphy; a brother, Leland Murphy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, Father Ed Anderson officiating, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the Church. Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is assisting the family with the arrangements.
