Joan T. Allen

Joan T. Allen, 92, of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, passed away surrounded by her loving family on, Saturday, March 30th. Born in White Plains, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Whelpley) Mackin. Joan was the beloved wife of Robert L. Allen for 28 years.

Joan led an active life. She was a woman of great faith, and found comfort in her church. She was a telephone operator for 40 years, and after retiring she started a new career at Stop and Shop in Narragansett. She continued to work there until she moved

to Maine in 2019. Joans greatest joy was her family, which included her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Joan is survived by her son, Robert Allen, daughters, Joanne Jones (Larry), Carolyn Metcalfe (Ed), 7 grand- children, and 12 great grandchildren. She was also loved by her siblings and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Allen, and her daughter Mary ONeil.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9th at 10 AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery, 72 Church St., Cranston. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 8th from 5-7 PM in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, 02879.
