Richard Carter Obituary
Richard A. Carter, 75, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 at RI Hospital. Richard was the beloved husband for 54 years of Sandra K. (Stockbridge) Carter. Born in Rockland, ME, he was a son of the late Byron and Beverly (Simmons) Carter. Richard was a self-employed painter for many years until retiring. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Richard was a
faithful member of the Exeter Chapel and also enjoyed lobstering and clamming.
Besides his wife, Richard is survived by his loving daughters, Camille J. Cunningham (husband, Gregory), Chrystal J. Carter (husband, Daniel Corcoran, Jr.), and Candace J. Carter (fianc, Kevin Robishaw, Jr.); brother of Joanna and Nancy Carter; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his siblings Gerald Orcutt and Dianna Kent.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 11AM in the Fagan Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown. Burial with military honors will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 5-7PM.
