DAVE WATERS Obituary

DAVE WATERS Richfield, Utah: "A man of his word and a man of few words" David (Dave) Lee Waters, 68, of Richfield, UT, died June 13, 2025 in Richfield, UT. He was born November 22, 1956 in Richfield, UT to LaVell Garn and Gladys Barney Waters. He married Terri Kay Baker on June 16, 1978 in Richfield, UT. Dave loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and working hard; but more than anything Dave loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was our rock and our lighthouse. Dave spent fifty one years working in the tire industry many of which he worked alongside his wife. They enjoyed working together, and said it always gave them something to talk about and a date for lunch. He was an expert in commercial, farm, retreads and OTR tires. Dave retired in 2021 having worked in all aspects of the tire industry. He owned and operated Dave's Commercial Tire Service in Richfield for nine years before selling to Bridgestone/Firestone. He then began working for them as store manager and commercial salesman. Dave spent his last years of his career working for Pearson Tire as a commercial salesman. After Dave retired, he continued to receive calls from tire dealers, previous customers and strangers from across the country wanting his advice and guidance on tire application and fitment. Dave appreciated his devoted friends, loyal hardworking employees, dealers, customers, and co-workers, many of which became lifelong friends. He is survived by his wife, daughter Destiny, Richfield, UT; granddaughters, Shayleigh and TyRae, Richfield, UT, and two great-grandsons. Brothers and sister, John and Natalie Waters, Fairfax, VA; Terry and Teresa Waters, Syracuse, UT; Sheryl Cole, Longview, TX. Brothers-in-law, Roger Ross, Salt Lake City, UT and Dave Baker, Shoshoni, WY. He is preceded in death by parents, grandparents, sister, Alayne Ross; parents-in-law, Jack and Bonnie Lee Baker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Linda and Dennis Wahlen, Ron Baker and Sharon Ballin. Dave requested that no memorial services be held. Please feel free to raise a toast and swap a tale or two. Dave's family would like to thank the first responders and SVH medical staff that quickly and professionally responded in his time of need. Special thanks to Dr. Daniel Smith for his kind and compassionate care. Cremation services will be held in Magleby Mortuary and Cremation Center.
