JOYCE ANDREASEN
JANUARY 27,1938 - APRIL 24, 2025
Joyce Morrison Andreasen passed away on April 24, 2025 at her home. She was born on January 27, 1938 to Elloid and Elsie Morrison in Richfield, Utah. She was born right in the middle of 15 children and was raised in Richfield, Utah. In 1954, Joyce met and married the love of her life and best friend, James Carlyle Andreasen while he was on leave in the military. They were sealed in the Manti Temple in 2003. Joyce and Jim had the opportunity to live and travel many places around the world during Jim's military career and also after their retirement. Joyce worked many jobs in the different places that they were stationed in the military. While living in Layton, Utah Joyce worked for many years at the IRS service center in Ogden, Utah. While traveling for work, she always made friends and enjoyed seeing the sites wherever she was. Nearly every morning of their retirement, Joyce & Jim went out to breakfast, sometimes not returning home until late at night because they decided to "go for a drive" and ended up in another state exploring. Joyce was talented at many things and loved to read. She loved to crochet, sew, paint, and do crafts which she gave to family and friends. She shared her talents and was always willing to help or teach others. Her favorite game was Rumikub and her family spent many hours playing it with her and eating her favorite food; chocolate! She also enjoyed camping and outdoor activities with her family. Joyce was well known in the family for her yummy goulash which she made frequently. Joyce loved her husband and family and missed Jim greatly after his passing. She loved her children and grandchildren and spent many hours cooking for them and making them special things that will always remind us of her. Joyce always made her grandchildren feel special and like they were each her favorite! She had a strong testimony of the gospel and taught us by example. She spent many hours in her later years doing temple work and genealogy. Joyce is survived by her sons Kurt (Carol), David (Cheryl), daughter Tracy (Bryan), 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 brothers; Gayle, Lynn (Ruby), and Don (Sherry), Jim's sister, Gayle Taylor, and many extended family and friends whom she loved dearly.
