LARRY JONES

LARRY JONES Annabella, Utah: Larry Keith Jones, age 87, passed away on April 17, 2025 in Salt Lake City. He was born on November 7, 1937 in Callao, Missouri to Dewey Reese Jones and Mary James. Larry grew up in Bevier, Missouri on a farm with 40 beautiful acres. He attended school in Laclede in a one room school house. In his youth he and his brother would bale hay for only a few cents a day to buy his family food. The family moved to Brookfield Missouri where Larry graduated High School in 1956. He worked for the Missouri Highway Department and bought his first car then moved to California looking for work. He ended up enlisting in the Navy where he served 4 years. He met and married Margaret Glenene in November 1971 in Pocatello, Idaho. Larry worked for Western Electric installing equipment in the telephone company offices. They enjoyed hunting and fishing. Larry and Glenene made many friends in Quartsite, Arizona during their "snow bird" winters and enjoyed gardening in Annabella in the summers. Larry is survived by his wife Glenene of Annabella, his siblings: Mary Katherine (John) Almond of Kansas City, Missouri, Norma Jean (Ray) Smith and Gene Jones both of Brookfield, Missouri and Linda Lindey (Steve). Preceded in death by his parents, his brother Virgil Jones, and a sister in law Donna Jean Jones. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00 A.M in the Richfield City Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing Friday morning 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield. Burial with military honors accorded by V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina. Online guestbook available at springerturner.com
