David J. Smith

1963 - 2023

David J. Smith, 60, of Ridgway, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 following a lengthy illness.

He was born on June 25, 1963, in St. Marys, a son of James and Marlene Konen Smith of Kane.

Dave was a member of the Hallton Church of Christ, and was a graduate of the St. Marys Area High School, class of 1981. He dedicated his career to the powdered metals industry, working as a Die Setter for many years at American Axle. He enjoyed the thrill of hunting, the freedom of the open road on his Harley, the tranquility of fishing, and the serenity of camping. He loved choosing and cutting down the family Christmas tree each year with his family. He could often be found caring for the environment through recycling. Family was of utmost importance to David, and he cherished spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa Anderson Smith, four children; Jolene (Abraham) Gornati of St. Marys, Travis (Shaylah) Smith of St. Marys, Ty Smith of Ridgway, and Devin Smith of Ridgway, and three step-children; Joshua Lineberger, Abby Lineberger, and Georgia (Stephen Smith) Lineberger, all of Ridgway. His eight grandchildren will forever carry his legacy in their hearts. He was also a devoted brother to Debra (Bob) Rolick of Kane and Robert Smith of Kersey, and son-in-law to George and Gayle Anderson of Ridgway.

A Memorial Service to celebrate David's life will be held on a future date at the convenience of the family.
