Fluffernutter McGrath Obituary

Fluffernutter Rose McGrath "Fluff" was born on August 18, 2013. In Avella, PA. She was the daughter of Phoebe and T-Boone. She was a wonderful daughter and the pride of her parents for her lifetime of service. Fluff selected her human family and became a McGrath after meeting her girls, Madigan and Mary. She resided in the North Hills of Pittsburgh for the first few years of her life and then moved to Ridgway, PA in Elk County.

After moving to Ridgway, Fluff engaged in her life of service. She became a certified therapy dog and provided services locally at the local Ridgmont assisted living facility and in other settings. She worked actively until the Covid disruption and provided admirable service as a therapy dog. She was loved and admired for her great work with her friends. She then provided services locally at an accounting office. She greeted many clients, consoled some during trying times and developed many close bonds through her daily interactions. She was a regular at the post office, the local banks and could be seen strolling Main Street in Ridgway, PA. She was always prepared to provide a loving dog smile and special wag for anyone she had the opportunity to meet.

Fluff passed on May 12, 2025 after a lifetime of love and service. She reminds us all of the power of our daily interactions and the influence we have in making the world a better place in our own little ways. She would ask that we all work to make the world a better place in whatever way we are able. If you find it within you to make a contribution to Fluffs legacy, start by smiling at a person you don't know and by passing on a kind word. We never know how a person may be struggling and a kind moment can be a true blessing. If you feel compelled to commemorate Fluff, she was always a supporter of the Elk County Humane Society and would be forever grateful if you remember and support their mission.

I'm so deeply sorry for the loss of Fluff. My condolences go out to the family and all the people in the communities Fluff had the pleasure of meeting and greeting. I never got to meet this amazing service dog but reading Fluff's story is a remarkable one! You never know what someone is hiding behind that smile or what someone else is going through. Give a smile and a word of encouragement to the next person you see! You never know how you can change someone's life for the better!
