Betty Beckner Obituary

Betty J. Beckner, 76, of Chalybeate, Ky., formerly of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 in Bowling Green, Ky.
The Edmonson County, Ky., native was born May 8, 1937, to the late Clyde Noah Ray and the late Beulah Ellen Renfro Ray. She was manager at Garden Plaza Hotel in Oak Ridge and assistant manager at Jr. Food Store. She was a member of Beaver Dam Chapel United Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Beckner, Chalybeate; one stepson, Phillip Beckner, Tennessee; one stepdaughter, Patty Montgomery (Richard), Tennessee; several stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Danny Ray (Janelle), Chalybeate, and Luther Ray (Charlotte), Chalybeate; two sisters, Ruth Hawkins (Junior), Brownsville, Ky., and Carole Sanders, Bowling Green; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Clydene Ray.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 27, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 28, in Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel. Funeral service was at 1 p.m. Friday, June 28, in Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel, with burial at Hawkins Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.pattonfuneralhome.com.
