Carl Martin Obituary
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, George "Buddy" Martin and Fred Lewis Martin; and three sisters, Pauline "Kitty" Martin, Beatrice "Bea" Cowan and Marvin Alice Kirk.
Loving family members left to cherish his memory include a devoted wife of 48 years, Shirley Martin; a son, Carl Martin Jr.; three daughters, Mary McCaleb and Karla Johnson, both of Knoxville, and Kristie Martin of Kingston; two sisters, Earline Pankey and Barbara Boatwright, both of Kingston; one brother-in-law, Thomas Hardy (Brenda); three sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Wright and Waltrine Hardy of Rockwood, and Sharon Flemmings of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and longtime friends, Harvey Simmons, Larry Mays, Allen Upton and David Russell.
The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, in Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston. Funeral was 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. James Guthrie and the Rev. Willie Gallaher officiating. Burial followed at Roane Memorial Gardens. www.kykerfuneralhomes.com

Thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. There is little that I can say or do to ease your pain and suffering. May knowing that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many, bring a measure of comfort. Life is so short and those we love are gone from our lives too quickly. God's promise to empty the grave in the near future is found at Hosea 13:14, may the God of loyal love comfort you during your time of sorrow.
