Rebekah Givens Obituary
Mrs. Givens was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Rockwood. She was a member of the Rockwood B&PW Club. She was a retired restaurant manager for 25-plus years at the Peggy Ann Truck Stop in Rockwood before its closing. She was, above all, a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Givens was preceded in death by husband, Beecher Givens; parents, Hugh and Pearl Knowing LaMance; son, Hugh Richard Givens; and brother, Ralph LaMance.
She is survived by son, G. Paul Givens (Rachel Mayes Givens), Murfreesboro; daughter-in-law, Mary Marlowe Givens, Seattle; grandsons, Thomas Beecher Givens (Lorri), Rougemont, N.C., Hugh Givens (Debbie), Portland, Ore., and John Givens (Debbie), Seattle; granddaughter, Julie Givens Makin (Rob), Seattle; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and longtime friend and caregiver, Donna Lynn Foland, Rockwood.
Funeral services and visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 4, in First Baptist Church in Rockwood. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon; funeral will follow at noon, with the Rev. Jim Hutson, the Rev. Rick Roberts and the Rev. Marty Shodoan officiating. Concluding services and interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery following funeral services. Evans Mortuary, Rockwood, is in charge of arrangements.
