Sarah Nancy Hunley

Sarah Nancy Hunley was born in West Virginia but moved to Harriman when she was 7 years old. There, she played on the Harriman High School basketball team and ran around with a bunch of girls who called themselves "The Shamrocks."
Sarah left Harriman after high school and soon began a successful career in advertising, working for the Ogilvy & Mather and the Leo Burnett agencies in Chicago, and the Noble Dury and Eric Ericson agencies in Nashville.
In 1985, Sarah made the decision to abandon her advertising life to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. She moved to Los Angeles and soon found work in both television and movies. Roles followed in movies such as "Marie," "Ghosts of Mississippi" and "Waitress," and on television shows including "Ghost Whisperer" and "Grey's Anatomy."
Sarah was best known and loved for her role as "Juanita Bartlett" in the movie "Sordid Lives," written and directed by her dear friend Del Shores. Fortunately, Sarah was able to reprise her role in a sequel, called "A Very Sordid Wedding" that was filmed just a few months prior to her death. She died on Oct. 5, 2016, in Los Angeles following a fall outside her apartment building.
The family would like to thank Del Shores, Sarah's guardian angel, for his enduring love and support, and fellow "Shamrock" Joy Allen Tabb for a lifetime of friendship.
Thanks also to friends Tom and Margee Chemeleski, to her long-time L.A. friends and neighbors Juan, Nancy, Stuart, Geoffrey and Vivian, and to the staffs of the Neuro ICU and Seasons Hospice at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Sarah's ashes will be interred at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Nashville, at a date still to be determined.
