Billie B. Liptrap

Billie Sue Booze Liptrap went into the Lord's open arms on October 29, 2023 after a long fight with Alzheimer's. She was born in Eagle Rock, VA on February 10, 1935. She was preceded in passing by her loving husband, Joseph H. Liptrap; daughter, Susan D. Miller; father, Jacob Dallas Booze; beloved mother, Alma Austin Booze; sisters, Margaret B. Linthicum, Lucille B. Biggs, Janet B. Craig; and brother, J.D. Booze, Jr. She is survived by loving sons Joseph David Liptrap, wife Brenda and Mark Allen Liptrap and devoted daughter, Kimberly Jo Truett, husband Danny. Grandchildren Jessica Madonia, husband Chris; Brittney Beer, husband Eric; Samantha Martino, husband Tom; Brooke Hindle and Jennifer Liptrap. Great grandchildren Brennon Madonia, Tyler Madonia, Macie Hindle, Tessa Hindle, Raymond Beer, Reid Beer, Quinn Martino and Caleb Hindle.

Billie graduated Eagle Rock High School in 1953. She then attended C&O Nursing School, graduating in 1956. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse for the United States Veterans Affairs, retiring December 1997. She received multiple commendations during her years of service with the U.S Government. She loved the beach, it was the place she was the happiest. Not just any beach but Nags Head NC, where she spent two blissful weeks each summer. She enjoyed reading, lunching with best friend Barbara, taking Prince (beloved Pekinese) for walks, and shopping trips. She was a member of the P. Buckley Moss Society and proudly displayed her many prints. She was a devoted Baptist and enjoyed helping out her fellow members at Bonsack Baptist Church. After the loss of her husband in 2009 she moved to Pennsylvania to be with her daughter.

The family will have a private graveside service on Friday, November 3, 2023 where she will be laid to rest beside Joe at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens, Roanoke, VA. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA.
