Carl W. Brookman, 91, of Vinton, VA, passed away on October 21, 2024. Visitation, 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2024, and Funeral at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, both at Oakey's Vinton Chapel (540) 982-2221.

Very sadden to read of Carl´s passing. He is my mother´s cousin. He always called to ask how she was doing. Mother recently passed away ay age 98. They are catching up in the heavens above. Condolences to the family.

To the family and other loved ones, I and my husband Bill were saddened to hear of Carl's passing. We met him through Tom and Sharon Akers, who were blessed to have him as a friend and neighbor. Their dog Chloe was the beneficiary of Carl's treats and affection. My husband was disappointed that his tomato crop produced only a handful of underwhelming specimens this past summer, as Carl enjoyed eating his homegrown ones. Carl will be missed in this realm.
