Roxie Ellen Brookman

Roxie Ellen (Quigley) Brookman, age 80, of El Reno, Oklahoma, passed away January 16, 2026, at her home.

Roxie was born on June 12, 1945, in Elkhart, Kansas to Merle and Elma Quigley. Roxie completed her master's degree in music education/administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. She taught music in Oklahoma and Kansas school systems. She also taught private piano lessons in her home. Roxie was known to love quilting, crocheting, and sewing. She made many beautiful things for her friends and family. She was also involved in the Damrosch Music Club and enjoyed singing. She was a member of Mt. Zion Global Methodist Church and played piano several Sunday mornings. She loved being involved with the Women of the Word at Mt. Zion as well. Her true passion was teaching and encouraging young people to pursue their music dreams or whatever they loved to do.

Roxie is survived by her daughter, Mary Wright, and husband Mike of El Reno. Her son, Richard Brookman Jr. and wife Michelle of Bucklin, Kansas. Grandchildren, Garrett Wright and wife Michaela of El Reno, Jacob Wright and wife Catherine of El Reno, April Northrop and husband Nathan of Goddard, Kansas, and Logan Brookman of Bucklin, Kansas. Great-Grandchildren, Colton Wright, Carson Wright, Scarlett Wright, Carter Wright, Thomas Wright, Aiden Wright, Declan Wright, and Grady Wright, all El Reno. Her sisters, Patricia Lillegaard of King George, Virginia, Orletta Jo Miller and husband Terry of Yukon, Oklahoma and Sister-in-law, Barbara Quigley of Fort Supply, Oklahoma, sister-in-law, Nancy Pascuzzi of Ambridge, Pennsylvania Nephews, Ray Taylor of King George, Virginia, Kevin Miller with wife Amy and family of Noble, Oklahoma, and Eric Miller of Yukon, Oklahoma. Marc Quigley with wife Vicki of Dibble, Oklahoma. Nieces, Helen Quigley Beck husband, Tek of Enid, Oklahoma, and Jeani Quigley Schmidt, with husband Doug of Guymon, Oklahoma.

Roxie is preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Elma Quigley of Elkhart, Kansas, her husband, Richard Brookman Sr. of the home, a brother, Rolandus "Pete" Merle Quigley of Elkhart, Kansas, and nephew, Robert Taylor of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

A Celebration of Life will be held January 28, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Mt. Zion Global Methodist Church in El Reno, Oklahoma.
