Elizabeth Parsons Obituary
May 9, 1941 - March 16, 2025
Elizabeth (Bette) Winters Parsons passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and selflessness. Born on May 9, 1941, she was the daughter of Donald Woods Parsons and Mary Elizabeth Hooper.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA. She dedicated much of her professional life to Martin Travel, where she was a valued employee for many years.
A woman of deep compassion and community spirit, Elizabeth was a longtime member of Second Presbyterian Church. She actively supported numerous charitable organizations, including Bradley Free Clinic, Good Samaritan Hospice, and Saint Francis Service Dogs. Her commitment to helping others was unwavering, and she asked for nothing in return except friendship.
Elizabeth possessed great style and flair, a cosmopolitan, sophisticated and genteel Southern Lady. She was also engaged in numerous social and civic organizations. She was a member of the Junior League of the Roanoke Valley and participated in the South Hills Garden Club. As a member of the Roanoke Country Club, she enjoyed golf and swimming, finding joy in both recreation and camaraderie.
Her warmth and generosity touched many lives, and her presence will be deeply missed by those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Evergreen Burial Park with Dr. George Anderson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Presbyterian Church. Online condolences may be shared with her family at www.Oakeys.com.

Bette was very helpful when planning our international trips including our honeymoon in Bermuda. She was pleasant and great to work with. Sorry to hear of her passing and may her memory be eternal.
