Everette Phillippe Obituary

Everette Clayton Phillippe, 92, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2009. He was born in October 15, 1917, in Roanoke, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Virginia Rebecca Brumfield Phillippe; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Phillippe was a retired carman from N&W Railroad and his early years he served with the Merchant Marines. He is survived by three sons, Don Phillippe, Wayne Phillippe, and Dennis Phillippe and wife, Cynthia; daughter, Carolyn Shifflett; six grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; and one greatgreat-grandchild. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2009, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Art Good officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, November 22, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem, Va., 540-389-5441.
