George Quinn Obituary

George Van Quinn

July 26, 1949 - March 12, 2025

George Van Quinn at the age of 75 passed away March 12, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents George W. and Virginia S. Quinn; brother, Jack.

Van was a 1967 honor graduate of Fork Union Military Academy where he obtained the rank of Lieutenant. Throughout his life he continued to support his beloved school and with many of his class graduate officers would meet each year to attend various alumni functions.

He is survived by brother, Ed; nieces, Stephanie Quinn and Monica Conley; nephew, Thom as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Van's favorite place was to go to Papa D's on Williamson Road where he would meet up with his buddies. As Ed often visited him towards the end of his life he would ask what did you need…. Most often Van would say what I really need is a cold beer and a cigarette and Papa D's. To the patrons of Papa D's raise your glass in a toast to Van. I'm sure he would love it.

Per his request there will be a private graveside service for family, at a later date at Evergreen Burial Park.
