Henri BARNWELL Obituary
Dr. Barnwell was employed with Tidewater Pediatric Consultants from 1994 to 2002. She was also cofounder of Pediatric Partners of Hampton Roads from 2002 to 2011. She was also employed with Sentara Atlantic Pediatrics, Private Contractor for PhyAmerica and CasePro (Physician Contractor).
Dr. Barnwell was chief of Pediatrics from 2001 to 2011 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center and President of Elect for Chesapeake RMC. She was also a volunteer and board member of Chesapeake Care Clinic and Medical Advisory for Chesapeake Public Schools.
A funeral service was held 5 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at The Basilica of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception, Norfolk. A viewing was held Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the church. The entombment will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Mountain View Estates, 5970 Grassy Hill Road, Boones Mill, VA 24065.
Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Street, is in charge. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.

Dr. Barnwell provided excellent care for my daughter Rachel, now 21 months. Rachel recognized her after numerous visits and would always greet her with a smile. She had a kind, patient, and gentle spirit, she will be missed. Our prayers are with the family. May God's peace surround you.

There are not enough kind words to describe Dr. Barnwell. I'm deeply saddened to hear of her passing. I had been anxiously awaiting her return to the office so she could follow up w my 3 children. It's not often that a person touches your spirit, but her smile and dedication to the care of my kids has set the bar for a quality of care that's a rare find these days. We will truly miss you Dr. B!! I haven't even found the words to tell my kids you have passed away... This is heartbreaking but I know you are in a better place and we were blessed to have you while you were here. Thank you! May your soul rest in paradise...

I am a nurse at Sentara Norfolk General and remember when Dr. Barnwell did her residency in our nursery. She was always pleasant and had a smile on her face. She will be missed. Prayers to her family.

I am a Parent Educator at CHIP. I met Dr. Barnwell over 3 years ago. My deepest deepest condolences to Dr. Barnwell's family and friends. She will be missed by the Hispanic community she served with dignity and respect for thier culture. The Hispanic community has lost a good friend. We will hold her deeply in our prays. I read the newspaper in Cola S.C. I was so shock about Dr. Barnwell.I meet her in 2002 and she was a very nice and helpful,and she will always be in my heart as a angel of healing, but our God will take care of her, and this picture shows her smile of caring,we will see her again. She has also been in my kids life since they have been born until they have become adults which one has a disability who is now 28,24,and 22 and she would always be their for me when my daughter that is disable had a problem. Dr. Barnwell was not only the best doctor my kids ever had she was a gift from god. My twins and oldest son have been taken care of by her for 10yrs. I always felt like every child seen she treated like she honestly cared and it wasnt just another patient. She will be so missed. For sure she was loved. Its heart breaking. Im so sorry we have lost her however she can now watch over everyone at once.

I just learned of Dr.Barwell's passing on 5/3/13 my 9month old son was going for a checkup at her office she was his doctor we really liked her and will be missed for the short time of knowing her my wife and I felt very connected with the caring and pleasantry she showing from start to finish we know you are among the angels and smiling down from heaven above

I'm am shocked and saddened to hear of Dr. Barnwell's passing. She was so nice, so professional, always had a smile on her face. She would listen to you if you had a concern about your child she didn't make you feel like a no nothing or a no it all, she listened. I am a parishioner @ Francis of Assisi church in Rocky Mount, Va. Mary and Robert have been mentors to my husband and me on love & faith based parenting. Henri, and her siblings, we're greatly loved by her parents. As she was loved in her earthly presence she will be infinitely loved by her savior, our Lord.
