James Glass Obituary

James Levi Glass, 90, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008. He ran Glass Radio and TV service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Quam Glass; son, Charles Glass; father, Jesse James Glass; mother, Mary Elizabeth Sink Glass; brothers, Clarence William Glass and Leonard Mason Glass; and brotherin-law, Elmer Quam. His survivors include his brother, Robert Ersel Glass; sister, Helen Glass Mattox; daughters, Maxine Simms and her husband, Elton, Betty Leslie and her husband, James Milton, and Barbara Camper and her husband, Kenneth; sons, James L. Glass Jr., and his special friend, Sharon Rippee, and Claude W. Glass; daughterin-law, Kathy Glass, sisters-inlaw, Elizabeth Glass and Ann Quam Snyder; brother-in-law, Bobby Quam; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2008, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. The Rev. Bill Rogers will officiate and interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Special thanks to Barbara for her loving dedicated care of James, and his caregiver, Carol Peters, for her dedication. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 8, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221.
