John Hylton Obituary

John Newton Hylton, 84, of Floyd, Va., passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Hancock Hylton. Survived by two sons, Buel "Butch" Hylton, Duane Hylton; daughter, Gail Hylton; four grandchildren, Anita Conner, Amy Conner, Amber Conner, Andrew Conner; one great-grandson, Trey Walker; two sisters, Peggy Hylton, Janet Edwards; husband, Ernie; one brother, Frank Hylton and wife, Nancy; brother and sister-in-law, Reginald and Sylvia Hancock; sister-in-law, Opalene Roberson; numerous nieces and nephews. John was known for his love for playing mountain music. Always there to help neighbors and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. Devoted to his entire family. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010, at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Duncan and the Rev. Dale Belcher officiating. Interment to follow at the Hylton Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the funeral home. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd.
