Jonathan Obenshain Obituary

Jonathan Kyle Obenshain, 87, of Troutville, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, May 2, 2007. During World War II, he served in the U. S. Navy. He retired from Singer Furniture, having previously ran Troutville Supply with his late brother, David Obenshain. Mr. Obenshain faithfully attended Faith Alliance Church, Roanoke. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Melvina Hughes "Bunny" Obenshain; three sisters, Marie Scaggs and husband, Zeke of Riner, Ann Obenshain and Jane Morris and husband, Johnny, all of Troutville; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Ronald Hughes and wife, Dot of Daleville; and sister-in-law, Jean Moretz and husband, Roger of Roanoke. Memorials may be made to Faith Alliance Church (Building Fund) 7505 Barrens Rd., Roanoke, Va. 24019 or Gideons International, c/o the Botetourt Camp, P.O. Box 135, Daleville, Va. 24083. Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at Oakey's North Chapel. Pastor David Fraser will officiate. Interment will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery, Botetourt County, with military honors by the U.S. Navy. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Oakey's North Chapel, 362-1237.
