September 26, 1933 - April 20, 2024
Joseph "Joe" R. Owens, 90, of Roanoke, passed away, Saturday, April 20, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife Shelby Owens.
Joe is survived by his children, Cindy Foster (Mickie), Terry Hostutler, Joseph R. Owens, Jr. (Cindy), and Woody Owens (Dawn); grandchildren, Ashley Als (Jason), Victoria Owens, Devin Owens, Dylan Owens; great-grandchildren, Adler Als, and Liara Als; brother-in-law, Kenneth W. Stanley.
Joe worked as a mechanic owning many garages and gas stations around Roanoke. He was an avid NASCAR fan. In keeping with Joe's wishes there will be no services planned.

Sending prayers to Joe´s family. He not only took care of my parents´ cars, whenever I blew out the tires on my bike, I could take it to him to fix. Always kind and generous.

Joe worked on my cars at the old Gulf Station at Hersberger and Cove Rd and on Melrose near Naff Auto Sales. Good Friend. Sorry, for your loss.

I have known Joe for about 70 years and always enjoyed sharing with him stories about the good old days. He was one that if he got started, it was hard to get up and leave.
