Karen Tharsella Loan, age 59, passed away March 14, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Radford, VA on September 8, 1965, daughter of Everette Courtney Loan and Nita Martin Loan Williams. Karen is survived by her mother, Nita Williams, her cherished sisters, Teresa Boyd, Kimberly Keith (Kirk), and Stacy Loan, her loving children, Chad Johnson, Clayton Loan (Renee), and Casey Loan, her beautiful grandchildren, Cayden Johnson, Destiny Johnson, Dre Bakaitis, Brayden Loan, Ava Phillips, and Acko Phillips. Her presence will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, Luke, Lacy, Courtney, Travis, Trevor, special family friend, Donald (Duckie), and her fur baby, Brownie.
Karen's legacy is one of love, kindness, selflessness, and forgiveness. The impact she made on our lives will remain forever. Karen will be remembered for the way she lived, always putting others needs ahead of her own, the way she walked in faith and her strong belief in God.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Blevins Funeral Home, 417 Lee St. Bristol, VA 24201 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A celebration of life service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with friends and family officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a moment of kindness in Karen's honor. Rest in love and peace, Karen.
